Green Apple Festival Earth Day Volunteer Celebration

Revision International and Rock the Earth are teaming up with teachers and parents at Kepner Middle School to build a community garden on an unused plot of land.  Teachers will use part of this garden as a classroom for their garden club, and community members will manage the rest of the garden, providing healthy food for their families.

Volunteers will be building up the soil, helping with an irrigation system, and constructing a fence around the garden.  Some volunteers will also provide educational outreach to the community about healthy food, and how to start a cooperative neighborhood garden with Revision International.

Snacks and lunch will be provided, and all volunteers will receive a free Green Apple Festival t-shirt and best of all, tickets for an exclusive concert for volunteers on Sunday night to see New Orleans own Ivan Nelles' Dumpstaphunk.
